NO to the destruction
of our beautiful town by profit driven development. Developers CR Chelverton propose building a new supermarket plus a new road along the city centre canal stretch. We say:
No To A New Supermarket !
Supermarkets destroy the local economy - small retailers go out of business, delivery lorries clog up town centres, profits are syphoned out of the local area. The big supermarkets support GM and are the biggest factor in the crisis our countryside faces today.
No To The Canal Road !
The proposed Canal Road will destroy the tranquility of the canal enjoyed by Lancastrians and visitors alike. We do not need another road bringing more cars, pollution and congestion into our city centre. The road also threatens the Musicians Co-op and the Homeless Centre - promises have been made by the council, but remember the promises made to the Navigation pub?
No to big box retailing !
Building big box retail units on the Mitchell's Brewery site will make a mockery of the Councils plans for a cultural quarter and the needs of Lancaster.
Let's Tell Chelverton Where To Stick Their Plans !
