Dear Chelverton,

I am writing to you to voice my strong
objections to your proposals for the
Kingsway/Mitchell's Brewery site in Lancaster.

Contrary to your belief we do not need nor
want another supermarket in Lancaster. I also
strongly object to your idea of destroying our
city centre by building yet another road.
Lancaster will not be Tarmac'd over!

Our own plans for this site are currently
being discussed. They include: small scale
development which benefits the local community
and local businesses plus a new park and skate-
boarding facilities for our kids.

If you are willing to make a proposal that will
facilitate the strengthening of the local
community and the greening of our urban
environment as well as encouraging the local
cultural scene, then we may be willing to
consider this.

In the meantime I would appreciate it
if you would withdraw your proposals forthwith.
I would like to assure you of my commitment to
fight your proposals every step of the planning
and construction procedure.
