Solidairity call from Indonesia

Team of Humanitarian Solidarity of Tsunami Disaster in Aceh & North Sumatera Province, Indonesia (KSKBA)

Due to the tsunami disaster occurred on west of the Aceh province Indonesia on Sunday with tens thousand of people dead, we has founded a humanitarian relief team named as Team of Humanitarian Solidarity of Tsunami Disaster in Aceh & North Sumatera Province, Indonesia (KSKBA). Until this mail sent many dead peoples have not yet buried while many other are still missing.

Peasants in Aceh Province also become the victims of this disaster. The PERMATA (Aceh Peasant Union, member of the Federation of Indonesia Peasant Union/ FSPI) office, base in Banda Aceh, also destroyed by the wall of wave. The activists are still missing and has not yet found.

The KSKBA relief team, lead by Henry Saragih, has flown to Aceh today (Wednesday, December 29, 2004) to bring the aids, rescue and search for the missing people.

Function:

1. To raise aids
   1. Distribute the aid to only the victims of the disaster effectively
   2. Priority for the victims who has not yet accepted any helps
   3. Population base aids distribution (like women and children)
   4. Base on the transportation accessibility

Below are the immediate helps and aids needed by the tsunami disaster victims in Aceh and North Sumatera province:

1. Food:
   • Staple food: rice, maize
   • Supplement food: infant milk, green bean
2. Supplement of Food Nutrition: sugar, salt, edible oil, tea, bread
3. Clothes:
   • Clean clothes (shirts, women clothes, trousers, sarong and under wears)
   • Blankets
   • Curtains
   • Infant clothes
4. Medicines and drugs:
   • Medicine and drugs; diarrhea, malaria, respiration and lung disease, etc
   • Specific stuff for women (like sanitary napkin)
   • Body bags
   • Blood Donor and blood pack
5. Shelter / refugees camps:
   • Material to build Shelter/ camps
   • Carpets or any kinds of sleeping mattress
   • Camping shelter
   • Camp Dom
6. Cooking and kitchen equipments
7. Water and Sanitation equipments
   • Drinking water
   • Sanitary stuffs: maskers to avoid rotten corpse, soaps, tooth paste, etc
8. Air and land transportation vehicles to distribute the aids and bring the volunteer teams.
9. Supporting communication means: Satellite Phone (because no communication means works)
